MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico's president acknowledged Tuesday that the armed forces have taken on one other civilian position: repairing the nation's highways.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated freeway upkeep in southern Mexico had been transferred from the federal government's Division of Transportation.
