Irish President Michael D Higgins was taken to hospital after feeling unwell.
The 82-year-old was assessed by medical doctors at his house, the presidential residence, Áras an Uachtaráin.
Nonetheless, in accordance with Irish nationwide broadcaster RTÉ, he was taken to hospital for additional assessments as a precaution.
Higgins grew to become president in 2011 and was re-elected in November 2018.
