Tenerife's Bendita Film topped the worldwide gross for “Recollections of a Burning Physique,” a hybrid doc solely chosen for the Berlinale Panorama.

Directed by Costa Rican screenwriter-director-producer Antonella Sudasassi Furniss, that is her second movie after the acclaimed “The Awakening of the Ants”.

His debut movie, which was offered on the Berlinale 2019, was Costa Rica's entry for the Academy Awards and achieved worldwide recognition, along with a nomination for the Goya Award, and the primary Platinum Award of Costa Rica.

“We immediately fell in love with the movie after attending the WIP screening at Ventana Sur, the place the place it will later win the first awards at Primer Corte,” mentioned Luis Renart, CEO of Bendita Film Product sales.

“Recollections of a Burning Physique” follows Ana, Patricia and Mayela, who grew up in a time when sexuality was a taboo topic. Now channeled as a single 65-year-old woman, the protagonist revisits a life filled with intertwined reminiscences, secrets and techniques and strategies, and hidden needs, giving voice to the unstated experiences of her earlier.

The imaginative and prescient course of Antonella is clear. “'Recollections of a Burning Physique' is the dialogue I didn't have with my grandmothers,” he explains in his affirmation. The movie represents a collective cry of ladies who, whatever the taboos of society, dare to speak about their intimate secrets and techniques and strategies. Explores themes of femininity, sexuality and self-discovery within the context of a conservative Latin American society.

The acquisition of Bendita Film Product sales marks a continued dedication to high-quality auteur cinema, following the restoration of the liminal soul monitoring “Samsara”, by Lois Patiño, and the debut of Itsaso Arana “The Girls are Alright,” greeted by Choice as “a fragile examination of feminine friendship blowing on a heat summer time breeze”
