A helicopter carrying six individuals crashed and caught hearth Friday evening close to the California-Nevada border, killing everybody on board, authorities stated.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated the Eurocopter EC130 helicopter crashed round 10 p.m. native time close to Nipton, Calif., an unincorporated group about 60 miles south of Las Vegas in San County. Jap Bernardino.
The helicopter took off from Palm Springs, Calif. at 8:45 p.m. native time and was headed towards Boulder Metropolis, Nev., Nationwide Transportation Council board member Michael Graham stated throughout a press convention Saturday.
The constitution flight went down close to Halloran Springs, California round 10:08 p.m., Mr. Graham stated, including that every one these on board – two crew members and 4 passengers – have been killed. He stated witnesses stated the helicopter crashed in wet and wintry circumstances.
“I wish to categorical our deepest sympathy to the households and family members of those that misplaced their lives on this horrible tragedy,” Mr. Graham stated. The names of the individuals who died can be launched after they’ve been recognized and their relations are notified, officers stated.
The flight was operated by Orbic Air LLC, which officers Mentioned is predicated out of Burbank, Calif. The helicopter was final seen close to Barstow, California, at 9:49 p.m., in keeping with FlightAware, a flight monitoring service.
The Nationwide Transportation Security Board and the FAA are investigating the crash, officers stated.
