Curaleaf Holdings (TSX: CURA) cleared the claims of being misquoted by Bloomberg in a current article. The controversy stems from statements attributed to Chairman Boris Jordan suggesting that Curaleaf might be protesting Part 280E of the US tax code by withholding tax funds.
Opposite to reported remarks, the hashish agency clarified that Jordan by no means explicitly said that Curaleaf was partaking in such a protest. As an alternative, he reaffirmed the corporate's place, saying that they’re solely reviewing their fiscal place, a sentiment supposedly per what was conveyed throughout Curaleaf's earnings name.
“Like different corporations within the trade, Curaleaf has the duty to evaluation this tax and take into account its validity. Curaleaf traditionally pays its taxes and can proceed to take action,” the corporate revealed in X.
