Cape City – A Russian nationwide accused of smuggling R252 million value of cocaine into the Western Cape has been arrested following a police chase by the quiet city of Stilbaai alongside the Backyard Street over the weekend.
The 39-year-old man, who was arrested alongside his Gauteng confederate, was captured after initially managing to flee throughout the pursuit.
Police spokesman Christopher Spies stated the escape was short-lived as police tracked the suspects to an area institution.
Spies stated the dramatic arrest unfolded on Friday when police obtained a tip about suspicious actions within the port of Stilbaai.
