A CRIMINAL gang importing medicine from Morocco to Spain in two helicopters has been arrested by the Civil Guard and the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie.
9 folks had been arrested in Andalusia, together with two pilots skilled in night time and low-altitude flights.
The 2 helicopters – price €900,000 every on the black market – had been seized with 795 kilos of cannabis.
Operation Torcal 469 Twister started in mid-2023 after the authorities found that the gang was searching for pilots to make drug flights between Spain and Morocco.
After a number of months of investigations, Guardia officers discovered two helicopters hidden in farms within the provinces of Seville and Cadiz, together with the properties rented by the gang chief.
Within the early hours of January 15, investigators detected a narco-flight within the province of Cadiz heading south from the farm of the group.
The craft was flying at a really low altitude and with out lights.
A Civil Guard helicopter chased the boat and arrested 5 folks, together with the pilot, when it landed on a farm in Chiciana de Frontera.
The helicopter was carrying 30 bales of cannabis weighing 795 kilos.
