Ecuadorian police entered the Mexican embassy in Quito on Friday night time to arrest Ecuador's former vp who had taken refuge there, prompting Mexico to droop bilateral relations.
Jorge Glas, the previous vp, had been sentenced to jail and there was a warrant for his arrest earlier than Mexico granted him asylum, Ecuador's presidential workplace stated in a press release declaration asserting the arrest. Mr Glas had been dwelling within the embassy since December and was granted political asylum earlier on Friday.
The assertion stated that “no prison might be thought of politically persecuted”.
The assertion, from the workplace of President Daniel Noboa, added that the arrest had gone forward as a result of Mexico had abused the immunity and privileges granted to the diplomatic mission and that the asylum of Mr. Glas is was given “towards the traditional authorized framework”.
Shortly after the arrest, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador printed a declaration saying the arrest was a “flagrant violation of worldwide legislation and Mexico's sovereignty,” and that Ecuadorian police had entered the embassy by power.
The Secretary of International Affairs of Mexico, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, declared the rupture of diplomatic relations with Ecuador declarationsaying that Mexican diplomatic personnel had suffered accidents within the episode.
It is a creating story.
