The police in Melaghar below Sonamura sub-division made a giant success in recovering a big inventory of contraband 'Ganja' (hashish) hidden in a pit on the residence of Chaitramohan Debbarma in Indrakumar para space below Melaghar police station. Appearing on a tip-off, a police celebration led by the officer-in-charge of Melaghar police station, Debasish Saha, raided the home of Chaitramohan Debbarma and recovered 240 kg of dried 'Ganja' from a pit behind the his residence. The market worth of the seized 'Ganja' is round Rs 8 lakhs. Police sources stated a case below the NDPS Act has been registered in opposition to Chaitramohan Debbarma. Officer-in-charge of Melaghar police station Debasish Saha stated that the anti-drug and anti-cannabis operations are persevering with in the whole Melaghar police station space with none interruption.
