Former Prime Minister of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) Andrew Alturo Fahie has been sentenced to greater than 11 years in jail after being convicted of cocaine trafficking and cash laundering.
US District Choose Kathleen Williams sentenced Fahie to 135 months (11 years and two months) in federal jail after he was convicted within the cocaine trafficking and cash laundering trial for agreeing to facilitate the secure passage of tons of Colombian cocaine by BVI ports. You like me.
The courtroom was advised that in return for his help, Fahie would make hundreds of thousands, which might be funneled by numerous companies or smuggled again into the BVI to cover the supply of the cash.
Over the weekend, Fahie's legal professional, Richard Della Fera, submitted a set of letters, together with heartfelt testimonies from Fahie's spouse and daughters, portraying Fahie as a well-respected man in his group.
Fahie's spouse described him as a “devoted and loving husband and father” whose objective in life was “to complement the lives of these he served”.
His daughters echoed this portrayal, illustrating his twin function as a nurturing household man and a benevolent group chief who “raised these round him with unwavering integrity and kindness.”
