“Assam has secured investments to the tune of ₹ 13,364 crore with the era of employment for greater than 17,000 individuals within the final 14 months,” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned.
The investments have been dedicated by 21 proposals, authorized by the State Cupboard, beneath the Assam Industrial and Funding Coverage (IIPA), 2019.
“IIPA has been amended by 2023 to draw mega investments of ₹ 100 crore and above, with everlasting employment for 200 or extra,” he mentioned in a submit on X on March 15. “Whereas MoUs for 14 of those proposals have been signed earlier, seven agreements have been signed on Friday,” the Assam Chief Minister mentioned.
“In January 2023, we introduced a coverage to customise incentives for mega traders. At present, seven extra corporations are dedicated to creating 6,500 jobs by ₹ 2,000 crore of funding,” Sarma mentioned.
“Within the final 14 months, by this coverage, Assam has secured investments of ₹ 13,364 crore and 17,700 jobs,” the Chief Minister mentioned.
“Among the many corporations which have signed MoUs up to now are PepsiCo India, Star Cement, Jericho Chemical substances, Indian Accommodations Firm Limted, Maxim Infrastructure Non-public Limted and Topcem India LLP,” officers mentioned.
