Among the many many issues airport officers must maintain a detailed eye on are drug smuggling makes an attempt. A current incident on the Detroit airport led to the arrest of a person who tried to smuggle greater than 30 kilos of cocaine by reserving a last-minute Delta Air Strains flight.

Earlier this month, officers on the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) arrested a passenger who was making an attempt to move roughly 33 kilos of cocaine by the airport through a connecting flight.

In response to ClickOnDetroit, Woodrow Campbell booked a last-minute Delta Air Strains flight on June 6 from Los Angeles to Saginaw, Michigan, with a visit DTW. He booked his ticket lower than 24 hours earlier than the primary flight was scheduled to take off on June 7.

In response to officers accustomed to drug smuggling actions at airports, drug traffickers typically resort to last-minute bookings to elude legislation enforcement brokers. In response to the report, Campbell had a previous drug smuggling file when he dropped off a checked bag on the Minneapolis-St. Paul Worldwide Airport in Might 2023, from which greater than 10 kilos of cocaine have been recovered.

Cocaine was present in three baggage

Campbell had stuffed the cocaine in three baggage, two of which arrived on the incoming flight.
